Writing in cursive

posted Nov 25, 2012, 12:17 AM by Jason Brunken
At Happy Kids, we want to make sure that all of our students have a complete understanding of the English language. Part of the English language is cursive script. It is true, that cursive is becoming rarer and rarer today. In fact, many schools in the US no longer require it to be taught. However, a quick look around even Taipei City, and you will see that cursive is still used widely for aesthetic purposes. We want to make sure our students can read cursive when they encounter it and be able to write their names and other phrases in cursive if they need to.

Please make sure your child takes some time to practice this skill. In class I passed out a packet for practice, but because cursive instruction is generally a part of the 3rd grade curriculum and not 6th's, I sill not be spending a great deal of time reviewing it. I have attached some great practice sheets to this post. If you would like, download and print them for your child to practice.
