Posters, Public Speaking, and Winter Break (1/25-2/7)

posted Jan 24, 2014, 1:49 AM by Jason Brunken
This week the Grade 2 class has been working on a very special project: informative posters. This past semester a major focus of our curriculum has been identifying main ideas and details. For this project, students are taking their research reports and summarizing them as main ideas and brief details. They will put this information on a poster with images. The final part of the assignment will be to present the information to their classmates the week we get back from Winter Break. I have been teaching the students about the four basics of good public speaking: eye contact, using a loud voice, using a clear voice, and changing your voice around. I will be looking for the kids to practice these four when they give their presentations.

I am looking forward to seeing their final posters. I will post pictures here when they are all done.

Remember that there are no classes for the next two weeks, January 25-February 7. Our next class will be February 10. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone back.
